Job Description

Title: Content Producer – Emirates FA Cup

Reporting to: Content Manager – Competitions (The FA)

To plan, produce and distribute industry-leading content related to the Emirates FA Cup across The FA’s owned and operated channels.

Location: Wembley

Contract: Fixed-term contract to July 31st, 2022


Key accountabilities:

· Working with The FA’s in-house video team to plan industry-leading content to be distributed across social media channels and websites

· Producing content plans to be shared with a wide range of stakeholders such as The FA’s brand, communications and commercial departments

· Day-to-day management of social channels, including optimisation of content to ensure maximum potential for reach and engagement, as well as interacting with fans and influencers

· Supporting agencies in making our content available to be translated and localised for international audiences

· Liaising with The FA’s in-house web team to suggest editorial content to which we can drive users from social media

· Identifying and actioning opportunities to move users from social media to our OTT broadcast solution, The FA Player, and driving conversion by demonstrating the value of them signing up to the service

· Interrogating analytics software to produce actionable insights on content performance, sharing such recommendations with other members of the team and stakeholders

· Working as part of a team covering live matches, including on weekends and evenings

· Forming part of cross-functional working groups to ensure our content supports wider business objectives, particularly those related to the growth of the Emirates FA Cup – both domestically and internationally

· Supporting The FA’s Broadcast team with the delivery of value adding propositions for domestic and international rightsholders

· Working with the Branded Content Producer on content that promotes The FA’s commercial partners in a way that will engage, entertain and inform our fans and followers

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following skills and attributes:

Essential Skills:

  • Strong evidence of creating engaging, entertaining and informative editorial content

  • Clear understanding of the modern digital publishing landscape, including emerging trends and future opportunities

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

  • A strong storytelling ability and news sense

  • Proficient user of website content management      systems (e.g. Sitecore)

  • Previous experience in a professional sports environment

  • Knowledge of website analytics, including key metrics and how to use them to measure performance

  • Ability to produce and share short-, medium- and long-term content plans

  • Experience of working as part of a multi-functional team to achieve mutual aims and organisational objectives

  • Thorough knowledge of football, in particular the England national teams, Emirates FA Cup and women’s game

  • Ability to manage a large digital community, responding to      conversations and producing reactive content where appropriate

  • Flexible approach to working hours and locations

Desirable Skills:

  • Journalism background and qualification (e.g. NCTJ)

· Experience of working for a brand or publisher

· Strong understanding of social media

· Proficient user of image-editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop)

· Proficient user of video-editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro)

· Proficient user of cloud-based video-clipping software (e.g. Grabyo)

· Proficient user of website content management systems (e.g. Sitecore)

Salary:  Commensurate based on experience

Holiday:  20 days (increasing by one day per year of service, to maximum 25 days)
