Premier League Primary Stars - A Digital Programme to Inspire Learning in 10,000 Schools

The Premier League have launched their first ever ad campaign showcasing their community programme, Premier League Primary Stars, which uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.

Seven League is proud to have delivered the creative vision for the digital offer of the programme that provides free digital resources to support teachers and help them inspire girls and boys aged 5 – 11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field.

Our role also extended to the delivery of the digital product, launched in October 2016 at www.plprimarystars.com – working alongside the Premier League and communications agency, Edcoms, to project manage and support the delivery of an engaging, accessible and responsive, website with high quality teaching resources, interactives and games.

This is the Premier League’s most ambitious community programme to date and aims to support 10,000 primary schools by 2019.

Teaching materials cover subjects from English and Maths to teamwork and PE, with free to download activity ideas, worksheets, lesson plans, fun assemblies and exclusive videos.

These resources have been created in partnership with industry experts Edcoms and the PSHE Association, National Literacy Trust and other key stakeholders. Children’s authors Cressida Cowell (‘How to Train Your Dragon’ series) and Dan Freedman (‘Jamie Johnson’ series) helped create the programme’s English resources, while Sky Sports presenter and mathematician Rachel Riley is a consultant in the development of Maths teaching resources.

The online resources complement a programme that also sees professional football club staff work with teachers to deliver fun, educational sessions in a range of subjects within local partner schools.

It has been particularly inspiring for us at Seven League to work with an organisation that has such a clear focus on values and a genuine ambition to ensure that these underpin everything that they do, encouraging children to:

Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals Be inspiring – set a great example to others Be connected – work well with others and in a team Be fair – treat people equally and think of others

Premier League Primary Stars is free for teachers and parents can nominate their school to get involved at plprimarystars.com.

We also highly recommend you challenge your maths skills with this fun game and see if you can take on the dancing goalies!
