World Cup Week Two in China

The World Cup group stages are well under way, and Chinese social media is continuing to show huge engagement. From the number of Weibo mentions around the fixtures, to the amount of users the Weibo’s World Cup flag selection has attracted, Chinese netizens are increasingly interested with the football event in Brazil.

So far we have analysed the activity surrounding the first game of the tournament, Brazil vs Croatia, the buzz on Weibo during the first weekend of World Cup games, and quick look at how China reacted online to the Germany vs Portugal match resulting in a surprising 4-0 result.
