Seven League shortlisted in 3 categories at the Sports Business Awards 2018

Another month, another set of nominations for Seven League! We’re thrilled to have been nominated in three (yes three!) categories at the Sports Business Awards 2018.

It comes just a month after Seven League was shortlisted for Agency of the Year at the BT Sport Industry Awards and both Agency of the Year and Best Digital Development (for LCFC.com) at the Sports Technology Awards.

The Sports Business Awards

The Sports Business Awards celebrate the hard work and achievements of the individuals and teams that make sporting success possible. The judging panel is made up of CEOs across all sports alongside individuals whose knowledge, expertise and experience gives them insight into the challenges and demands of sports business.

Seven League’s work has been recognised in the following categories:

> Best Business Serving Sport

> Best Fan Engagement Programme (7L & UEFA for the #WePlayStrong Squad)

> Sports Innovation Award (7L, AVM and Tottenham Hotspur for The Lane 360)

--------------

Best Business Serving Sport

This category celebrates the work of companies providing innovative and effective solutions to the sports industry, with judges looking for outstanding products or services, clear examples of innovative solutions and staff knowledge & dedication.

This recognition of our work follows an outstanding year for Seven League, capping a year where we turned five years old.

Few agencies can claim to have worked with 52 of UEFA’s 55 national football associations, to manage social media content in six languages across six markets for the NBA, and to drive digital growth and innovation for FC BarcelonaTottenham HotspurJuventus and Leicester City among many others.

In the last year alone, 7L staff have been embedded in the digital operations of the Bundesliga, The FAEngland Netball, Spurs and The Open.

We have also helped to deliver grassroots campaigns such as the Premier League’s Primary Stars project.

Best Fan Engagement Programme (Seven League and UEFA for the #WePlayStrong Squad)

This award celebrates the industry’s most creative campaigns used to engage and interact with fans, with judges looking for unique programmes that produced positive results and genuine enthusiasm from fans.

Seven League was incredibly proud to have been involved with UEFA’s groundbreaking #WePlayStrong campaign in 2017, as we devised an innovative micro-influencer campaign known as the #WePlayStrong Squad.

We carefully selected, recruited and empowered 45 super-fans, players, coaches, officials, mums and dads - real people connected with women’s football across 16 European countries. We engaged them with a variety of collaborative challenges, giving them daily reasons to create authentic content that inspired people across Europe to support and take part in women’s football.

Sports Innovation Award (Seven League, AVM and Tottenham Hotspur for The Lane 360)

This award recognises organisations and projects that are especially innovative, with judges assessing entries on the positive short and long term impact on sport and the community.

Last year saw Seven League team up with Animal Vegetable Mineral (AVM) to produce The Lane 360 for Tottenham Hotspur.

After 118 years, Spurs’ world-famous stadium White Hart Lane closed on 14th May 2017, following a 2-1 victory over Manchester United. The Club wished to "archive the atmosphere" of the venue its global fanbase called home.

Seven League, as Tottenham Hotspur’s retained digital agency, and AVM (a production agency specialising in 360, AR and VR) collaborated to create an explorable model of the ground, packed with embedded rich media.

More than just a 360 film, The Lane 360 is a world-first content platform, combining the opportunity (the venue and its closure), the technology (AVM's development), the video capability (numerous 360 video clips captured by AVM, facilitated by 7L for the Club) and archive rich media underneath in an overarching innovation concept.

-------------- Seven League would like to thank the Sports Business Awards for shortlisting us, and we also send congratulations to our fellow nominees!
